Dr. Shamira Malekar - Addl. Secretary

Dr. Shamira Soren Malekar is an Associate Professor of Business at the City University of New York – Borough of Manhattan Community College.
She has several research papers to her credit published in National and International Management journals of repute. She is one of the founding members and Joint Secretary for the Forum of Emotional Intelligence and Learning (FEIL) in India. She has received Best Paper awards at National and International conferences in 2005, 2007, 2011, and 2012.

She received 1st prize for the Best Doctoral Paper Competition at the Association of Indian Management Scholars (AIMS – 7) International Conference organized at Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore in December 2009. She also won the 1st prize for Best Thesis Competition at the Doctoral Conclave at ICFAI Business School (IBS) in February 2010. She also received Certificate of Merit for the 3rd position at the Emerging HRD thinker’s award of the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) for the paper entitled ”Attracting and Retaining Talent with Emotional Intelligence: A Study on Social Relationships in Organizations” in March 2010. She is an invited member at Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in organizations USA. She has authored a book entitled “Success with Emotional Intelligence” published by Kendall Hunt Publishers, the USA in 2017. The second edition of the book released in 2020. Dr. Malekar has compiled and edited the first book of FEIL in 2011 entitled Emotional Intelligence and Leadership: Better Work and Learning Environments.
She is one of the editors for the compendium for research papers presented at the Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Summit and Awards 2020 and released in October 2020.
